Sunrift Gorge Saint Mary Lake - Glacier Park Carved by Baring Creek . . . the deep narrow gorge above the trailhead marker for Baring Falls, a scheduled hike, was a complete surprise bonus for this roadside pullover. A flat digital camera image cannot do justice to the depth and color of Sunrift Gorge just off the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier Park. The creek shoots through the gorge on route to Baring Falls and finally, its outlet, St Mary Lake.
